Ethiopian First International Model and Actress Yeharerwerk Gashaw

 is honored over the popular Ethiopian traditional coffee and
 dinner ceremony at a Palace converted to a hotel, Ghion Hotel, in Addis Abeba,
 Ethiopia in August, 1990. Honoring Speech

 by the legend journalist Teklu Tabor. It was the first time for Ethiopian

 government owned  Minister of Information and its legend journalists

 to honor an Ethiopian patriot for her

contributions and humanitarian work to Ethiopia's cause.

The initiative to honor Yeharerwerk Gashaw, came from
Teklu Tabor a legend journalist and head of Ethiopian Press in 1990.

Ghion Hotel which is popularly known as "The Garden Palace Hotels
 of East Africa"  is situated in the heart of Addis Ababa
 in spacious verdant compound.

The hotel which occupies carefully restored buildings
dating back to 1950s, set in Tranquil

trees and Gardens filled with indigenous

"STATE FAIR OF TEXAS

Yeharer Gshaw (Yeharerwerk) became the first African (Ethiopian) ever featured at the State Fair of Texas as the Queen of the Republic of Africa in the State Fair of Texas Parade. She was included as as one of Dallas' celebrities, dignitaries and high profiled personalities a long with Mayor of Dallas Mr. Ron Kirk in opening day Parade. The theme of the 1999 State Fair of Texas Parade was A Salute To The World. Ms. Yeharer Gashaw rode the African Float as the Queen.

The Ethiopian actress, and humanitarian was selected to be part of the 1999 State Fair of Texas due to her recognition by the Dallas community for her work as positive role model and unity maker. Yeharer has received special recognition from President George Bush, Governor Ann Richards, Mayor Kirk and African leaders for her humanitarian work, and is the founder of The Congressman Mickey Leland Orphan Children's Home/Road in Ethiopia. Yeharer will participate in the 2000 State Fair of Texas Parade.

A humanitarian and community activist , Lielt Samuel, became the youngest person ever featured at the State Fair of Texas Parade in 1999. Lielt was born in the United States of America in 1992.

She rode on the African Float as an African Princess along with her mother Yeharerwerk Gashaw. Lielt participated in the parade at her age due to her maturity, social skills, and prior experience at an early age. Lielt is pictured also with her mother, wearing traditional Ethiopian dress called "Ye ager Libs" and Congolese dress, representing the African Continent at the State Fair of Texas. The Republic of Africa's Float is decorated with Ethiopian Flag Green,Yellow and Red.

The reorganized State Fair of Texas prospered immediately, establishing new records for receipts and attendance as 300,000 people streamed through the gates in 1905. President William Howard Taft visited the Fair in 1909, and Woodrow Wilson delivered a speech in 1911. Automobile races and stunt flying exhibitions became the top attractions. Attendance topped the 1 million mark in 1916. World War I caused the 1918 State Fair to be canceled, and Fair Park was converted into a temporary army encampment
